Ardencraig

Ardencraig was Chesterman Properties first project in 1999. It was one of Vancouver’s first green multi unit market residential projects. For our efforts we received the Mayor’s Environmental Award in 2001 and an Ethics in Action Award in 2000. We purchase a very run-down detached home in the City Hall area of Vancouver and turned it into three beautiful townhouse and a striking in-fill coach house. We undertook significant research to determine effective and feasible green building strategies and incorporated many features including: high efficiency heat recovery, healthy interior finishes and resource efficient materials. Over 90% of the wood used for framing and cabinetry was reclaimed from demolished buildings.
