Ardencraig
Ardencraig was Chesterman Properties’ first project in 1999. It was one of Vancouver’s first green market multi-unit residential projects. For our efforts we received the Mayor’s Environmental Award in 2001 and an Ethics in Action Award in 2000. We purchase a very run-down detached home in the City Hall area of Vancouver and turned it into three beautiful townhouse and a striking in-fill coach house. We undertook significant research to determine effective and feasible green building strategies and incorporated many features including: high efficiency heat recovery, healthy interior finishes and resource efficient materials. Over 90% of the wood used for framing and cabinetry was reclaimed from demolished buildings.
