Koo’s Corner
Koo’s Corner has appeared in countless presentations and media articles as a “poster child” for creative, well designed urban “in-fill” development. In less technical terms though, Koo’s provides six beautiful, contemporary, efficient and thoughtfully designed homes in the vibrant Strathcona neighbourhood in Vancouver. Verdant
Verdant is a highly innovative 60-unit stacked townhouse project which incorporates affordability and advanced green practices. Robert Brown of Chesterman Properties was a principal of reSource Rethinking Building which was the development manger for this project. reSource partnered with SFU Community Trust and Vancity Enterprises. Through an innovative development and financing arrangement, the project was sold at 20% below market value with an ongoing resale agreement to ensure affordability over the longer term. Read more…

Chesterman Properties worked as the development manager for First United Church between 2008 and 2011 in the creation of a new vision for their property at 320 East Hastings Street in Vancouver Downtown Eastside. Read more…
Five
Five is a collection of five detached residences located in the popular Main Street/Riley Park neighbourhood of Vancouver. Chesterman Properties purchased the five 1912 houses which had been badly “abused” over the years. We carefully re-built the homes, bringing back their original appearance and the City placed them on the Vancouver Heritage Register. Read more…
Ardencraig
Ardencraig was Chesterman Properties first project in 1999. It was one of Vancouver’s first green multi unit market residential projects. For our efforts we received the Mayor’s Environmental Award in 2001 and an Ethics in Action Award in 2000. We purchase a very run-down detached home in the City Hall area of Vancouver and turned it into three beautiful townhouse and a striking in-fill coach house. Read more…
Tofino Attainable Housing
In 2008, Robert Brown, and his partner from reSource, were asked by the Tofino Housing Corporation to undertake a development feasibility assessment of their proposed housing project on District land in the West Coast community of Tofino. The proposal was to develop affordable home ownership opportunities and affordable rental housing for local residents. Read more…
